Matt Foerster performs all aspects of litigation in trial and appellate courts across Texas. His practice focuses on insurance and business litigation. He represents several workers’ compensation and employers’ liability insurance companies and has experience with coverage matters, claims disputes, defense obligations, fraud, judicial review of agency decisions, and regulatory investigations and compliance. He also represents companies and business owners in a variety of matters in arbitration, administrative proceedings, trial court litigation, and appeals.
Matt received his J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and externed at the Arkansas Supreme Court. He moved to Austin to begin his practice and is admitted in every state and federal court in Texas and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has been top rated by Super Lawyers® for insurance coverage since 2020. He is a member of the insurance law and civil appellate sections of the Texas State Bar. In his pro bono practice, Matt has obtained appellate reversals of orders terminating parental rights, earning him membership in the Texas Pro Bono College in 2017 and 2020. He is also a member of the Texas Bar College and the Fifth Circuit Pro Bono Panel.
A former professional soccer referee, Matt retired from Major League Soccer after the 2013 season and now enjoys mentoring aspiring referees and attending Austin FC games (as a spectator) with his family.
